Brothers Sgt. Rahsaan Tyler and Staff Sgt. Duane Tyler are getting to see more of each other since the 172nd moved to Baghdad in August.
For most of the year, the brothers had been several hundred miles apart while Rahsaan was in Rawah with the 4-14 Cavalry and Duane was at Forward Operating Base Marez in Mosul with the brigade support battalion. Now the two are living at the same camp in Baghdad.
As Duane was waiting to visit his brother Tuesday after Rahsaan came back from a patrol, he said their families worry about both brothers being in Iraq and now at the same camp at the same time. But Duane said he likes the chance to be able to check up on his younger brother.
Working with electric maintenance in the support battalion, sometimes Duane has to service equipment with the 4-14. “He’s my customer so he’s my biggest headache,” Duane said.

Thanks Margaret for posting this article about my husband (SSG Tyler Duane) and my brother (SGT Tyler Rahsaan). This article was comforting to my family as well as my sister in law and her family. We pray hard that our husband’s are safe and it is comforting to know that they are there together. Again thank you so much, your article was truly a blessing and I thoroughly enjoyed the reading.
Also for all the spouses of the 172nd thank you for a job well done.
