More time to sue
A motion to extend the time in which the contract can be challenged in court from 60 days to 120 days was hotly debated on the House floor this morning. The amendment introduced by Rep. Max Gruenberg, D-Anchorage, failed on a tie vote of 19-19.
However, Rep. Beth Kerttula, D-Juneau, was successful in changing the time limit for filing legal challenges to 90 days. Her amendment passed 28-10.
The final bill passed the House on a 36-2 vote. It now goes to the Senate which must decide whether to concur with the changes made by the House.
