Thumbs down from the House
The House this morning refused to reconsider its approval of a 23.5 percent tax on oil companies’ Alaska profits. The vote was 5-27.
The Senate rejected the bill as passed by the House on Tuesday night. The bill now goes to conference committee, which could start at any time.
