Amendments on hold
The governor won’t keep lawmakers in Juneau just because they didn’t pass a complete set of amendments to the Stranded Gas Development Act, according to Jim Clark, the governor’s chief of staff.
Clark said Tuesday the administration would present another request for amendments along with changes to the contract and the agreements for the limited liability corporation that would be in charge of the pipeline.
The administration argued last week that the amendments would have given them direction in renegotiating the contract. Sen. Gary Wilken, R-Fairbanks, and others said they wanted to see changes to the contract before granting authority to the administration through the amendments.
