The taint question, again
Is PPT tainted? Tom Kizzia sifts through the documents.
Quotes from the locals:
“In caucus, Ben [Stevens] railed on us for anything over 20 (percent),” said Sen. Gene Therriault, a Fairbanks Republican who was a member of Stevens’ majority. “It finally got so unpleasant we just stopped having caucuses. He worked majority and minority votes out of caucus.”
“There’s things you can do in the background that aren’t noticeable to the general public,” said Sen. Gary Wilken, R-Fairbanks, now a minority member in the Senate. “Had everything been on the up and up, I believe the number would have been 25 percent.”
(NOTE: Therriault is from North Pole, not Fairbanks)
