Another Juneau update, coming in rapid fire now, from R.A. Dillon:

Amendment No. 4: Stedman has a technical amendment to clean up language for the transitional investment credits for small explorers. The measure was adopted without objection.

Amendment No. 5 by Sen. Bill Wielechowski would extend the statute of limitations on tax assessment and amended filings from four years to six. Approved by a vote of 12 to 7.

The fiscal note on the Senate bill says it brings the state nearly $2 billion more in fiscal year 2008 than the existing petroleum profits tax and $1.5 billion more than the governor’s original proposal at $80 a barrel prices.
