Whose bill does what?
From R.A. in Juneau, for us:
The Senate version of the oil tax bill would raise $1 billion more in the current fiscal year at oil prices of $80 a barrel than the version approved Sunday by the House.
However, the Senate version raises slightly less in future years — at least according to the fiscal note we have down in the pressroom. It’s actually about $100 million less than the House version would raise in fiscal 2009. We’re checking to see if some of the other amendments didn’t change the revenue raised by the final bill.
News-Miner reporters Stefan Milkowski and Eric Lidji bring you up-to-date info about the governor's oil tax and
the gas line plans as well as tossing in some tidbits that have nowhere else to go.
