Drum roll, please
The deadline for applications under AGIA is 5 p.m. tomorrow.
Here’s what we know so far:
-The Alaska Natural Gas Development Authority, a voter-formed public entity, has submitted an “addendum” application for a spur line. They’re offering the addendum to anyone interested in adding it to their application for a main pipeline.
-MidAmerican Energy Holdings Co. has said it plans to submit an application.
-The Alaska Gasline Port Authority, another public entity, has also said it will apply.
The administration is planning to announce shortly after the deadline tomorrow who has applied. That’s a change from the plan a while back, which was to not release any info until after the administration had a chance to gather any additional information needed to complete incomplete applications.
Joe Balash, a special assistant to the governor, said today it was Gov. Palin’s decision to release the info. She didn’t think it would be fair to the public to have such a big deadline pass with no word from the administration, he said.
News-Miner reporters Stefan Milkowski and Eric Lidji bring you up-to-date info about the governor's oil tax and
the gas line plans as well as tossing in some tidbits that have nowhere else to go.
