Ballet & Pointe
Description
Welcome to a class guaranteed to keep you on your toes and take your ballet technique to the next level. Pointe explores a dancer's potential in the most popular form of ballet. Participants will develop the physical strength, energy, posture, and vocabulary needed to advance ballet education. (Class is modified for beginning dancers)
Creative Dance Camp
Description
Creatove Dance Camp offers a fun educational dance experience that includes creative movement, ballet, music appreciation and arts and crafts. Through various activities and art projects the children will learn about the music that accompanies the steps, the setting that surrounds the dancers and the costumes they wear, all adding to the beauty of ballet. The week culminates with a dance demonstration where the children experience the thrill of performance as a choreographer, costume designer and dancer.
Dance Camp
Description
We encourage a healthy life style by keeping kids active. Dancers explore a number of different dance forms such as: Musical theater, Hip Hop, tap, jazz, ballet, acrobatics, cheerleading, Hawaiian hula, country swing, and break dancing. Dancers learn self-discipline and creativity through choreography that they will perform at the conclusion of the camp.
Drama Project 2008--Sessions 1 & 2
Description
Each two-week fun session features a professional theatre training program which includes the study of character development, story building, theatre games and theatre performance using newly developed vocal and physical skills.
Drama Project Ensemble-Session 3
Description
The three week session features ensemble theatre training for young adultls includes professional coaching in voice and physical movement and character study.
Fairbanks Bluegrass Camp for Kids
Description
The fifth annual Bluegrass Camp for Kids features music instruction and fun. Classes in fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, bass, and vocals, including bluegrass harmonies. Instruction is in small groups, including band classes. Some individual instruction possible. The final day ends with a concert featuring all the student bands.
Fireweed Art Camp
Description
Activities ranging from drawing basics to multi-media projects will be featured in a home setting in the hills of Fairbanks, with an outdoor small group atmosphere. Focus will be on fun projects with an emphasis on quality art education and plenty of one-on-one instruction.
FLOT Jr.
Description
FLOT Jr. consists of three, 1-week, age-specific camps that teach the basics of musical theater-singing, acting, choreography, scene painting, making props, and make-up. Each camp also rehearses a short musical for performance at the end of each week.
Hip Hop & Break Dance
Description
Street meets beat in these popular forms of dance. These styles involve anything from Popping to The Worm. The popularity of these dance forms is apparent in the TV Show; So You Think You Can Dance, and the new movie; Step Up 2. The class encourages originality while teaching choreography.
Kindermusik Around the World/Near and Far
Description
Your child will develop an early awareness of rhythm, movement, singing, and drama. Each lesson features a new country from around the world, explored through multi-instrument and multi-cultural elements. Explore Germany, Japan, Africa, England, and Mexico. Two sets of take home materials included at no charge.
Mo Holland Dance Camp
Description
Ccampers learn ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, acrobatics, and choreography. There is a performance the last day of camp.
Music Together of the North
Description
Music Together is a family-based, mixed age music and movement class for children ages infant-5 years and their parent(s). Participants are provided with quality research-based recorded music and visual material to reinforce the learning process. Classes are 45 minutes long and meet once weekly for 8 Saturdays. Class size is limited to 12 and preregistration is required.
North Star Ballet Summer Dance Intensive
Description
The program provides in depth instruction in dance technique, theory and performance preparation. Daily classes in ballet, modern, and jazz will be supplemented with repertory classes in ballet and modern, and classes in body conditioning and dance history. The session concludes with a special performance of works choreographed by faculty members. The program provides an opportunity for the serious intermediate and advanced student, age 12-19, to build technique and gain a broader understanding of dance and related subjects.
The program emphasizes a kinesthetic approach to movement and dance training through the understanding of anatomical principles and the dynamics of movement. Students experience individual attention and personal guidance. Room and board will be available for out-of-town students.
Outside The Line-Summer Session
Description
Drawing, painting (watercolor, acrylic), found object sculpture, numerous art exploration projects, outdoors and in. Observing nature for some subject matter. Two or more choices offered each day. Spacious studio with natural surroundings. Includes all materials. 9 student maximum per session.

Piano Composition Camp
Description
One day camps designed for the piano student wanting to explore composition. Basic notation will be taught and practiced. Creative ideas will be developed and completed through written manuscript. Each day camp will give piano students an opportunity to produce an original work for their instrument. Level one day camp is designed for students who have no experience in composing or has written one composition. Level two is for students who have composed two or more pieces and want to expand their knowledge. Level three is for the student who composes on a regular basis and is ready for more advanced methods.
Summer Dance Intensive
Description
Dance Intensive Camp includes ballet, pointe variations, hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, turns and jumps.
UAF Summer Music Academy
Description
The UAF Summer Music Academy is an intensive two week program of musical education for students have played their instrument at least one year. Emphasis will be on providing opportunites for students to learn in their own style and at their own pace while fitting into the larger musical community.
Youth Summer Fiberarts Program
Description
Week long classes for three hours each day that present concepts in art and craft through specific projects that develop youths' confidence and skill.
