Creative Dance Camp

Description

Creatove Dance Camp offers a fun educational dance experience that includes creative movement, ballet, music appreciation and arts and crafts. Through various activities and art projects the children will learn about the music that accompanies the steps, the setting that surrounds the dancers and the costumes they wear, all adding to the beauty of ballet. The week culminates with a dance demonstration where the children experience the thrill of performance as a choreographer, costume designer and dancer.

Dance Camp

Description

We encourage a healthy life style by keeping kids active. Dancers explore a number of different dance forms such as: Musical theater, Hip Hop, tap, jazz, ballet, acrobatics, cheerleading, Hawaiian hula, country swing, and break dancing. Dancers learn self-discipline and creativity through choreography that they will perform at the conclusion of the camp.

Fairbanks Bluegrass Camp for Kids

Description

The fifth annual Bluegrass Camp for Kids features music instruction and fun. Classes in fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, bass, and vocals, including bluegrass harmonies. Instruction is in small groups, including band classes. Some individual instruction possible. The final day ends with a concert featuring all the student bands.

Description

North Star Ballet Summer Dance Intensive

Description

The program provides in depth instruction in dance technique, theory and performance preparation. Daily classes in ballet, modern, and jazz will be supplemented with repertory classes in ballet and modern, and classes in body conditioning and dance history. The session concludes with a special performance of works choreographed by faculty members. The program provides an opportunity for the serious intermediate and advanced student, age 12-19, to build technique and gain a broader understanding of dance and related subjects.
The program emphasizes a kinesthetic approach to movement and dance training through the understanding of anatomical principles and the dynamics of movement. Students experience individual attention and personal guidance. Room and board will be available for out-of-town students.

Piano Composition Camp

Description

One day camps designed for the piano student wanting to explore composition. Basic notation will be taught and practiced. Creative ideas will be developed and completed through written manuscript. Each day camp will give piano students an opportunity to produce an original work for their instrument. Level one day camp is designed for students who have no experience in composing or has written one composition. Level two is for students who have composed two or more pieces and want to expand their knowledge. Level three is for the student who composes on a regular basis and is ready for more advanced methods.
